Jan 25, 2022 (newstodate): The Swedish/Norwegian carrier Air Leap has grounded its aircraft fleet and stopped flights from January 24, 2022.
The Board has announced that the reasons for the suspension of business are harsh business conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic, and - not least - insufficient state support.
The carrier has been providing flights in Sweden from Arlanda to Visby, Halmstad and Orsnkoldsvik, in Norway from Oslo to Orland and Roeros, as well as flights in Finland between Stockholm Arlanda and Mariehamn and between Mariehamn and Turku.
In the fleet of Air Leap are four Saab 340, four Saab 2000, and one ATR 72-500 passenger aircraft.
In most cases, Air Leap has been operating on routes supported by PSO contracts that will now probably be taken over by other operators to secure regional connectivity.
