Jan 12, 2022 (newstodate): The Swedish Jonkoping Airport emerged from 2021 with a slight drop in total cargo volumes.
A total of 2,770 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, which is some five percent compared to the preceding year.
On the other hand, the volume of cargo movements increased by 18 percent, y-o-y, to 1,206 operations - not least due to six weekly flights with a Cessna Grand Caravan from the Slovenian airline Flycom Aviation to Augsburg, in Germany, with corona test samples transported by road into Jonkoping from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo.
-On top of this, we are happy to see the new year 2022 starting out promisingly, with a significant increase in ad-hoc cargo charter flights and first of all the return of Postnord Sweden with five weekly flights by from the end of this month, says Henrik Alverdahl, Jonkoping Airport Marketing Manager.
The bulk of the airport's cargo traffic is still provided by the integrators FedEx, time-matters, and DANX.
