Jan 06, 2022 (newstodate): To better manage its international logistics, the Ukrainian postal company Nova Poshta has decided to launch an own cargo airline, to be named Supernova Airlines.
The airline company was registered on October 1, 2021, and plans are to start out with two Boeing 757-200 cargo aircraft aiming at operating scheduled routes to the USA and China.
For a start, the route network will however comprise destinations in the Middle East and Europe.
The first aircraft has reportedly been sourced, while negotiations are undergoing concerning delivery of the second aircraft.
Plans are to launch operations already by May 2022, depending on the landing of the AOC and pertinent licenses, which is expected by April 2022.
Managing the airline will be Yaroslav Krasnozhon as CEO, formerly serving with the Turkish-owned Atlasjet Ukraine.
Hopefully, Supernova Airlines will not live up to its name, indicating a dying star collapsing....
