Jan 27, 2022 (newstodate): Russia's Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport has been selected as a prime point for technical stops by the Belgian cargo carrier Challenge Airlines.
   Challenge Airlines is now calling at Tolmachevo Airport on its route between Liege and Wuhan, in China, with five weekly scheduled rotations.
   Challenge Airlines opened operations on the route to China in June 2020, operating nine charter flights to bring PPE into Europe.
   The carrier then filed its application with the Chinese Civil Aviation Authorities for scheduled route rights to Wuhan and other Chinese cities, hoping for up to six weekly frequencies to China.
   Tolmachevo Airport serves regular cargo flights by Russian and foreign airlines including Cargolux, Cargolux Italia, Lufthansa Cargo, providing technical and fuel services.
