Jan 20, 2022 (newstodate): While the clouds are amassing over Ukraine in the confrontation with Russia, at least the skies have opened between EU and the country.
Ukraine and EU finally landed an Open Skies Agreement on October 12, 2021, and Ryanair is one carrier to take full advantage of the new potentials.
Ryanair has thus announced the opening of 13 new routes from Ukrainian airports, bringing the number of routes to 90 and the weekly flights to some 230 during the coming summer schedule.
Kiev will see the opening of three new routes, including flights to Stockholm Arlanda; Lviv will see the opening of six new routes, including also flights to Stockholm Arlanda; Odessa will be connected with three new routes, and Kherson will see the opening of a new route to Warsaw.
Ryanair entered the Ukrainian market with the first flights in 2018 and going all-in from 2018, while Wizz Air was the country's first low-cost carrier with the launch on July 18, 2008.
