Jan 28, 2022 (newstodate): The coming new Norwegian long-haul carrier Norse Atlantic Airways has taken delivery of its fourth Boeing 787 aircraft.
Like its predecessors, the aircraft is leased from BOC Aviation and was formerly operated by Norwegian.
Plans are to have a fleet of 15 aircraft ready already by this summer 2022.
On January 14, 2022, the airline scored a major breakthrough with the US DOT's approval for the transatlantic flights on routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Oslo, Paris, and London.
In the plans are also flights from Oslo Airport to Ontario near Los Angeles, and to Newburgh near New York - both secondary airports serving major destinations at competitive airport charges.
In May 2021, Norse Atlantic succeeded in landing a pre-hire agreement with the U.S. Association of Flight Attendants, and on December 29, 2021, Norse Atlantic Airways received its AOC by the Norwegian FAA.
