Jan 04, 2022 (newstodate): Highly experienced with SAAB 340 cargo conversions, the Swedish company TAM, Taby Air Maintenance, is currently performing the first SAAB 2000 conversion.
The aircraft will offer six net-divided loading bays, in addition to the current passenger aircraft cargo compartments accruing to a capacity of 55.4 m3/ 6,622 kg total cargo volume
Launch customer for this first converted SAAB 2000 aircraft to be delivered in Q1/2022 is the US company Jetstream Aviation Capital, founded in 2010 and specializing in commercially-operated regional turboprop aircraft.
Following the completion of the process, the conversion will next require EASA and FAA approval, expected by the end of March 2022
Jetstream Aviation Capital is the largest global owner of Saab 340 and Saab 2000 aircraft and associated spares and engines.
The Saab 2000 first flew in March 1992 and was certified in 1994. The last of 63 built aircraft built was delivered in April 1999.
