Jan 26, 2022 (newstodate): Another milestone has been reached by new Lithuanian carrier Jump Air, paving the road for start of commercial services.
After receiving its AOC from the Lithuanian CAA on December 31, 2021, the carrier has now also been awarded its Type A commercial license as the last remaining start-up document to obtain before start of commercial operations.
Jump Air's first aircraft, an ATR 72-500 in passenger configurations on a lease contract with Elix Aviation, is now on the tarmac at Orio al Serio International Airport in Italy, and Jump Air now targets Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Asia/Pacific as potential markets for charter and long term wet-lease operations.
Jump Air plans to grow the fleet by two or three more ATR72 units by the end of 2022, including an ATR 72 type freighter variant to be added already later this spring.
Established in early 2020 in a partnership between AliPlan S.r.l and EU Wings S.r.l., Jump Air earlier aimed at start of operations already by Q1, 2021 - before the effect from the coronavirus struck the global industry.
