Jan 31, 2022 (newstodate): Will Lithuania ever see the launch of a new carrier, Global Airways Lithuania?
    Yes, says Lithuania's Civil Aviation Authority that confirms that it is progressing on completion of an AOC for the airline.
   - If there will be no major disturbances from either side, we expect to finalize the process in February 2022, a source within Lithuania's Transporto Kompetenciju Agentura tells newstodate.
   -2021 was an exceptional year for our authority, as we were running three AOC certification projects in parallel. Thus, in 2021 two new air carriers were granted with Lithuanian AOC – Heston Airlines and Jump Air. We also have reached good progress with Global Airways as the bigger part of the certification activities has now been accomplished.
    A subsidiary of the South African carrier Global Airways, the coming new Lithuanian passenger airline to be based in Vilnius will be offering charter and ACMI services with Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
   Global Airways originally intended to launch flights from the summer 2021 season, already, pending the completion of the AOC and Operational License processes.
