Jan 05, 2022 (newstodate): Menzies Aviation is in the market for a new VP Scandinavia to provide operational leadership for all aspects of its operations in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
The position has become vacant as the current holder since September 1, 2020, Thomas Hoff Andersson, is stepping down to take up instead the position as COO at Berlin Brandenburg Airport from May 1, 2022.
The VP Scandinavia refers to Miguel Gomez Sjunesson, Menzies SVP Continental Europe, who was named country manager Sweden and Denmark as Menzies established handling services at Copenhagen Airport from April 1, 2015, with Norwegian as its launch customer.
In 2006, Menzies Aviation made its first acquisition in Scandinavia, buying the entire stock in the Swedish Malmo Air Cargo providing handling of trucked airfreight between Scandinavia and the main European gateways.
In 2007, Menzies acquired Finnair's handling company Northport, active at Oslo Gardermoen and Stockholm Arlanda.
