Jan 17, 2022 (newstodate): 2021 brought sustained growth in total cargo volumes back to Copenhagen Airport after a corona-hit 2020.
A grand total of 286,708 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, which was 28.4 percent up on the preceding year.
Compared to pre-covid 2019, volumes were however still trailing behind by 17 percent.
Volumes on legacy/non-integrator carriers also increased by 32.5 percent, y-o-y, to 195,7621 tonnes - but remained down 27.4 percent compared to 2019.
Belly cargo is crucial to the airport, and in 2021 a total of 98,795 tonnes was handled at Copenhagen - an increase by 41 percent, y-o-y, but still down 21.5 percent on volumes in 2019.
Cargo on legacy carriers' all-cargo flights was almost non-existent at Copenhagen Airport in 2021; only 390 tonnes, which was down by 69.5 percent compared to 2020 - and only one percent of all-cargo volumes in 2019..
