Jan 06, 2022 (newstodate): Several countries have aired interest in managing the airports of Afghanistan after the Taliban take-over of the country.
First movers have been companies in Qatar and Turkey - but Afghanistan's Ministry of Transport and Aviation has now said that there will be no transfer to external parties of airport operations and management, keeping the airport infrastructure under national control.
Instead, the Afghan government will cooperate with foreign companies to support airport operations with technical competencies and expertise on a contractual basis.
