Sep 21, 2021 (newstodate): The Lithuanian cargo GSA provider, Strike Aviation, has landed a new contract with the Ukrainian LCC SkyUp.
As of September 20, 2021, Strike Aviation's subsidiary in Poland, with HQs at Warsaw, will serve SkyUp Airlines as its GSA in the Polish market, starting out with promoting cargo sales on the airline's new route connecting Kiev and Lodz, in Poland.
The opening of the contract coincides with the launch of the flights between Ukraine and Poland from September 20, 2021, with SkyUp Airlines offering two weekly rotations using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, providing Polish exporters with fast connections via Kiev to the airline network of destinations including Tbilisi, Almaty, Tashkent, Yerevan, Dubai and Istanbul.
Starting operations from May 2018, SkyUp is fully owned by Ukrainian capital, with 50 percent of the stake held by the owners of the country's leading tour operator JoinUp, Tatiana and Yuri Alba.
In the fleet are now two Boeing 737-700, four Boeing 737-900ER, and six Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with orders placed for five Boeing 737 MAX and one more boeing 737-900 aircraft.
