Sep 17, 2021 (newstodate) Ryanair has now confirmed its intentions of re-establishing a base at Denmark's Billund Airport.
The LCC will initially allocate two Boeing 737-800 aircraft at Billund Airport to provide flights on eight new routes to Brussels, Gothenburg, Lisbon, Memmingen, Sibiu, Seville, Tallinn and Wroclaw.
The base opening will however still require a settlement with the Danish unions, with discussions still ongoing.
Ryanair made its first entry at Billund Airport on January 24, 2007, and on March 2012, Ryanair established its 48th base at the airport serving western Denmark.
But due to union protest and labor actions against Ryanair's opening of its second Danish base at Copenhagen Airport from March 2015, Ryanair closed down both bases in Denmark by July 2015.
