Sep 29, 2021 (newstodate): Romania has seen the registration of the first Boeing 747 aircraft in the country.
Earlier operated by Thai Airways Cargo, the Boeing 747-400BCF will be put on the AOC of a new Romanian carrier Rom Cargo Airlines that is however still awaiting the AOC to be issued by the country's CAA.
Earlier named Fly Sky Romania, the carrier has been established by the Moldovan carrier Aerotranscargo, operating also under the brand name of Fly Sky.
The Moldovan mother company will eventually transfer two Boeing 747-400 freighters to Romania, allowing the company to operate as an EU carrier.
With the latest revision of the EU Blacklist, all of Moldova's carriers, except for Air Moldova, Fly One and Aerotranscargo, are banned from the EU airspace.
