Sep 20, 2021 (newstodate): The new freighter service between Latvia's Riga Airport and Hong Kong came off to a successful start on September 18, 2021.
Behind the new service is the Lithuanian e-trade logistics provider Venipak, with own offices in China and Hong Kong.
Venipak will initially be offering one weekly rotation with a Boeing 737-800BCF operated by the Russian carrier Atran Airlines, but plans are to add a second rotation already by October 2021.
According to Venipak, the full capacity ex-Riga was sold out in only two days, with shipments destined for Hong Kong spanning from car parts to cosmetics from Baltic and Polish exporters.
Venipak sales in China is provided by Kales Hong Kong as its GSSA; sales in the Baltic markets is provided by Strike Aviation, while Kales Poland is serving as Venipak's cargo GSSA in the Polish market.
Venipak's ambitions also envisage an expansion of the freighter service to destinations in Mainland China and the United States, as well as adding a route connecting Hong Kong with the West Coast of the USA.
