Sep 27, 2021 (newstodate): With HQs in Vilnius, the Lithuanian charter and ACMI airline Heston Airlines has now taken delivery of its first Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Heston Airlines has signed a lease contract with the Chinese-owned Irish aircraft leasing company Avolon for three Airbus A330-200 aircraft, formerly operated by Aeroflot till spring 2021, and undergoing pre-delivery maintenance In Hong Kong.
Two of the three aircraft will initially be operated as all-cargo aircraft with seats removed, while the third will be available for charter and ACMI passenger operations.
In early July 2021, Heston Airlines that landed its AOC in May took delivery of its 3rd aircraft, an Airbus A320 leased from the Irish aircraft leasing company Genesis.
Managed by Jonas Rinkauskas as CEO, Heston Airlines plans to grow the aircraft fleet to seven aircraft by 2022, and eventually up to 10 aircraft at a later stage, all placed on the charter and ACMI markets.
Heston Airlines is not, however, the first Lithuanian airline with wide-body capacity; this position was secured by GetJet Airlines taking in its, and the Baltic region's first, wide-body passenger aircraft in the form of an Airbus A330-300 by the start of 2019.
