Sep 10, 2021 (newstodate): Cargo volumes handled at Finland's Helsinki Airport were up by 11.6 percent, y-o-y, to 11,049 tonnes in August 2021.
International cargo accounted for 10,719 tonnes, increasing 13.1 percent, while international mail volumes dropped 35.7 percent to a mere 200 tonnes.
In August 2020, a total of 7,821 tonnes was handled at the airport, corresponding to only 39.4 percent of the volumes handled in August 2019, and almost exclusively consisting of international cargo totaling 7,796 tonnes and down 60.5 percent, y-o-y.
In the first eight months of 2021, the airport has seen total volumes rising by 11 percent, y-o-y, to 102,125 tonnes of which international cargo and mail were 101,233 tonnes, up 11.3 percent.
