Sep 03, 2021 (newstodate): Icelandair is now returning in full scale with services between Iceland and Greenland.
September 1, 2021, thus saw the first Icelandair flight between Reykjavik and Kulusuk, on Greenland's east coast - a traffic suspended since March 2020 as the Covid-19 struck.
Flights are now offered twice-weekly for at start, against up to 13 weekly rotations in earlier times.
In addition to the flights to Kulusuk, Icelandair is also returning two weekly rotations between Reykjavik and Nuuk, but plans are to increase frequencies and add more destinations in Greenland from the summer 2022 schedule.
The carrier thus also used to operate flights to Ilulissat and Narsarsuaq in Greenland.
Until 2021, flights were operated by the Icelandair subsidiary Air Iceland Connect that was however merged with the mother company from March 16, 2021.
