Sep 01, 2021 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo is to offer fresh cargo capacity in the Swedish market from this winter 2021/22.
Finnair will thus be launching flights on new non-stop flights from Stockholm Airport to Bangkok and Phuket, as well as to Miami with Airbus A350 aircraft.
Fishing in the Swedish waters for leisure travels to popular tourist destinations, the opening of the routes are part of Finnair's efforts to diversify its revenue streams to complement the still ailing traffic out of its home market, Finland.
The routes will however also offer cargo capacity in the market, as the Airbus A350 offers a capacity of 20 tonnes of belly cargo on a fully-booked passenger flight.
The first of the new routes will lift off on October 22, 2021, heading for Bangkok with five weekly rotations, going up to daily connection from November 28, 2021, as the tourist seasons gains momentum; flights to Miami will follow from October 4, 2021, with four weekly rotations, going up to four rotations from November 29, and flights to Phuket will launch also from October 24, 2021, with one weekly rotation, adding one more flight from November 4, and one more from November 30, 2021.
In the Swedish market, North Air Logistics provides the airline with cargo GSSA services, while handling of Finnair Cargo is provided by Spirit Air Cargo Handling.
