Sep 10, 2021 (newstodate): Since June 1, 2021, Finnair's cargo sales in Norway are performed by the new office in Oslo, managed by Astrid Solli-Hansen as Sales Manager Norway.
-Norway is one of the key markets for Finnair Cargo, and from a business perspective, we have a great product to offer, particularly to the seafood industry, says Emmi Teras, Finnair Cargo Marketing Lead.
-Therefore, we wanted to build stronger relationship with our customers there. And obviously there is a benefit of having a Finnair-focused team to serve our customers, instead of GSA service model representing a number of airlines in the market. This means that our own office is now the point of contact and due to this strategic shift, we no longer work with a GSA in Norway, says Ms Teras.
Until this change, Scanpartners International was serving Finnair Cargo as its GSSA in Norway.
Since October 2018, Finnair Cargo's handling provider at Oslo Airport is Spirit Air Cargo Handling, and specifically for exports of seafood, Finnair Cargo has contracted Gardermoen Perishable Center AS, owned by Schenker Norway, DHL and the Norwegian freight forwarder Air Cargo Logistics.
Finnair Cargo is a key provider of cargo capacity to Norway's seafood exporters, offering scheduled trucking services from Norway to the company's COOL Nordic Cargo Hub at Helsinki for flights on the airline's Asian routes.
