Sep 28, 2021 (newstodate): Only last week, happy tidings from Finnair were news of resumption of services to Beijing from October 2021.
Finnair will thus be returning with so far two weekly Airbus A350 rotations in the winter 2021/22 schedule - still far cry from pre-covid times when Finnair operated up to 14 rotations per week.
Now, however, the optimism may be cooling down a bit as new restrictions at Beijing Airport are affecting Finnair Cargo operations.
-Only shipments handled in Hongyuan Logistics warehouse can be accepted onboard, while all shipments to other handling locations cannot be accepted, Finnair Cargo announces.
Especially damaging for the company is that Finnair Cargo also will not be able to carry any temperature-controlled shipments into Beijing Airport, hurting the carrier's ability to serve Norwegian exporters of seafood to China as long as restrictions apply.
