Sep 02, 2021 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport continues to show past-Covid progress in cargo volumes in 2021.
Reporting on August 2021, Billund Airport handled a total of 6,241 tonnes of cargo, which was an increase by 13.7 percent, y-o-y.
The growth was driven by a hike by 27.5 percent in exports, to 4,692, while imports still pulled in the opposite direction - down 14.4 percent to 1,549 tonnes.
In January-August 2021 the airport has thus handled 49.584 tonnes of cargo, up 15.9 percent, y-o-y, including 37,295 tonnes of exports, up 28.4 percent, and 12,289 tonnes of imports, which was down 10.4 percent.
Compared to pre-Covid 2019, the total cargo volumes at Billund Airport were actually up by 1.5 percent by the end of August 2021.
