Sep 22, 2021 (newstodate): The opening of a weekly freighter flight between Riga and Hong Kong is a huge opportunity and a welcome challenge for Strike Aviation, serving as its GSSA in the Baltic markets.
-Our task is to sell 50 percent of the 20 tonnes capacity on the freighter, and we are happy to see the warm reception of the new service among Baltic agents and exporters, says Andrius Antanaitis, General Manager at JSC Strike Aviation LT representing the carrier in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
-From the beginning we are focussing on our local markets with own offices in all three Baltic countries, and we have indeed come off to a promising start, with exports primarily consisting of shipments of IT equipment, cosmetics and spare parts.
-The new service has been welcomed not least by agents already sending shipments to Hong Kong, that have now gained a new direct venue, but we are confident that as our service gains attention and confidence in the market, potentials are indeed huge. Also, the launch of the freighter in time for the coming Christmas peak is most appropriate.
-For us, the new task is greeted with high ambitions among our staff; after two difficult years, our team has really learned to develop flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to new opportunities, which comes to good use in promoting the Venipak-freighter service, says Mr Antanaitis.
