Sep 09, 2021 (newstodate): As Canada has lifted its ban on non-essential entry into the country from September 7, 2021, Icelandair is back on its route to Toronto.
Toronto has indeed been on this summer's schedule, but the travel restrictions forced Icelandair to stay put.
Icelandair first launched flights on the route between Keflavik and Toronto from spring, 2008, offering five to seven weekly rotations with Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
The route opening followed on the signing of an Open Skies Agreement between the two countries, replacing the former MoU on Air Services that had allowed operations to Halifax, Canada, by Icelandair since 1995.
