Aug 05, 2021 (newstodate): May 1, 2021, marked the return by Wideroe Ground Handling to Oslo Airport after 13 years of absence.
Not surprisingly, the handling company's first airline customer was Wideroe after a tender process at normal procedures.
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, Wideroe would have some 7,000 annual flight movements at Oslo Airport, currently down to some 5,500.
So far, Wideroe has been the handling company's only customer, but a second carrier has now signed up with Wideroe: the Greek carrier Aegean Airlines operating seasonal flights to Athens and Geek leisure destinations from Oslo Airport in 2021.
Heading Wideroe Ground Handling at Oslo Airport is Merete Elvestad as WGH Station Manager.
