Aug 05, 2021 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Atran Airlines, the narrow-body member of the Volga-Dnepr Group, is renewing its freighter fleet.
The carrier has now taken delivery of two more Boeing 737-800BCF converted freighters on a lease contract with GECAS, bringing the fleet of this type to six units and with first delivery in September 2021 already.
So far, the mainstay of the carrier's fleet has been the Boeing 737-400SF converted freighter, with three units still serving Atran.
In 2019, Atran Airlines became the first Russian carrier to operate the Boeing 737-800 freighter, with two joining in May this yer, and all aircraft are leased from GECAS.
