Aug 27, 2021 (newstodate): Through 2021, the Latvian charter carrier and ACMI provider SmartLynx has deepened its foothold in the German market with new contracts.
This summer, SmartLynx has been operating full charters on contracts with the German tour operator TUI Deutschland, basing one Airbus A320 aircraft to provide flights out of Saarbrucken and one Airbus A320 aircraft at EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg.
In another contract with the German capacity provider Involatus, SmartLynx will allocate three Airbus A320 to provide flights from Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, and Munich to leisure destinations Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife during the 2021 autumn season.
Now, Smarlynx has also managed to land a new contract with the third-largest tour operator in Europe, FTI Group.
Under this latest new contract, SmartLynx will initially be operating two weekly non-stop flights from Berlin to Dubai on a full charter basis, starting from October 4, 2021, and going up to three weekly rotations from December 18, 2021, using Airbus A321 aircraft on the route.
A member of Avia Solutions Group, the IOSA certified carrier now operates a fleet comprising 15 Airbus A320, seven Airbus A321 and five Airbus A330 aircraft.
On the cargo side, SmartLynx is operating two Airbus A321-200 converted freighter aircraft for DHL, based at Leipzig Halle Airport for world-wide cargo operations.
