Aug 25, 202 (newstodate): The opening by May 20, 2021, of a new Wizz Air base at Sarajevo, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, has provided capacity to expand with new flights to Scandinavia.
Basing one Airbus A320 aircraft in Sarajevo has thus allowed the carrier to launch flights to nine destinations, including Copenhagen and Gothenburg.
Now, it seems that Wizz Air may also be considering entering Stockholm Arlanda Airport, following on Ryanair's announcing the opening of its first-ever flights into Stockholm Arlanda Airport from Liverpool, starting from November 2, 2021, with two weekly rotations, and eventually offering a total of 21 routes from Stockholm Arlanda.
According to the latest schedule, Wizz Air will launch its first-ever flights at Stockholm Arlanda also from November 2, 2021, on a route from Banja Luka, in Bosnia - a route so far operated to Stockholm Skavsta.
Both Wizz Air and Ryanair have been operating at Stockholm Skavsta Airport; but earlier this month Ryanair announced its decision to move traffic from Skavsta to Arlanda from Q4, 2021 - and Wizz Air may be following suit.
