Aug 19, 2021 (newstodate): Through its subsidiary Direct Maintenance, Estonia's Magnetic MRO has landed a significant contract in the African market.
   Direct Maintenance has thus taken over the full package of technical handling of China Southern Airlines' fleet line maintenance services in Nairobi, Kenya, as an extension of the cooperation since 2015 on line maintenance technical support and logistics for China Southern Airlines' Airbus A330 aircraft serving the route between Changsha and Nairobi.
   Direct Maintenance is the only line maintenance provider holding FAA Repair Station approval in Kenya and other African countries, was also the first MRO provider to support Boeing 787 aircraft line maintenance in Kenya.
   In March 2019, Magnetic MRO completed the acquisition of Direct Maintenance, an Amsterdam-based independent MRO provider.  
   With the acquisition, Magnetic MRO added Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 maintenance to its capabilities, and doubled its global line stations network while allowing the Dutch company to keep the Direct Maintenance brand.
   Established in 1995, and formerly known as Air Maintenance Estonia, Magnetic MRO was acquired in 2018 by China's Guangzhou Hangxin Aviation Technology.
