Aug 30, 2021 (newstodate): Emirates has long been online at Copenhagen Airport, with the first passenger flight from Dubai on August 1, 2011, later complemented with Emirate SkyCargo freighter flights.
Emirates SkyCargo thus named Copenhagen Airport its Scandinavian freighter hub from July 1, 2014, operating 11 and seasonally even more weekly freighter operations, most of which were in fact transit stops for flights to and from the United States, benefiting from the geographic location of Copenhagen Airport that made it a convenient point for en-route technical stops. The hub-status was however made redundant with the entry of new freighter types flying Dubai-US non-stop without need for technical stops.
But today, Copenhagen Airport still serves as a technical stop for up to three daily Emirates SkyCargo all-cargo passenger aircraft flights on Dubai-US routes, with crew changes at Copenhagen Airport.
