Aug 10, 2021 (newstodate): The in-night logistics provider DANX Finland is happy with the performance of its freighter service between Helsinki and Stockholm, since May bolstered with the addition of the third destination: Malmo Airport.
-We were quite anxious to see how we would perform in July as this is traditionally a low season in Scandinavia - but it actually performed as budgeted, says Pasi Junninen, DANX Finland Mng Dir.
-This was our first "normal" July, as last year's July was marked by the large and unusual backlogs created by the Covid-19.
-The routing from Helsinki to Malmo, continuing to Stockholm and returning to Helsinki makes good sense; shipments from Helsinki to Stockholm may easily be trucked, rather than flown, while the longer distance to Malmo favors air transport for more time-sensitive in-night express shipments. The triangular routing generates a more balanced operation.
-Today, we operate with high load-factors. As volumes increase, we might also need larger capacity than offered by the Metroliner - but so far, this aircraft is perfectly suited to our needs, and we are indeed very satisfied with our cooperation with our partner, the Spanish airline FlightLine, says Mr Junninen.
