Aug 16, 2021 (newstodate): The new Norwegian LCC Flyr is in the air with the first flight on June 24, 2021 - but is lacking capacity.
The carrier has been planning with three Boeing 737-800 aircraft in the fleet this summer, but the delivery scheme is slipping.
Flyr is still operating only two Boeing 737-800 aircraft as the delivery of the third aircraft, slated for late July 202, remains delayed.
To cover up for this, Flyr has leased one Boeing 737-400 aircraft from the Danish start-up charter carrier Airseven that started commercial flights from early June, operating two leased Boeing 737-400 aircraft to serve its co-owner Danish tour operator Primo Tours and other charter companies in Scandinavia as well as offering capacity in the ACMI market.
Airseven is thus now operating flights on domestic routes in Norway on behalf of Flyr.
