Aug 06, 2021 (newstodate): Billund Airport continue to regain terrain in cargo, with rising volumes in July 2021.
A total of 6,454 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled by the airport, an increase by 39.7 percent, y-o-y.
Exports were up by no less than 45.7 percent to 4,944 tonnes, while imports also increased by 23.1 percent to 1,510 tonnes.
During the first seven months of this year, volumes handled at Billund Airport were up by 16.3 percent, y-o-y, to 43,343 tonnes, including 32,603 tonnes of exports, up 28.5 percent, while imports still dragged behind by 9.9 percent, to 10,740 tonnes.
Compared to pre-corona January-July 2019, the growth in volumes in 2021 is 3.8 percent, showing a sound recovery in air cargo.
