Aug 11, 2021 (newstodate): Swedavia reports an increase by 5.3 percent, y-o-y, in flown cargo volumes during the first seven months of this year.
Together, the three airports at Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo handled 73,973 tonnes of flown cargo during January-July 2021, with import volumes reaching 35,106 tonnes, up 9.8 percent, and exports landing at 38.867 tonnes, also up 1.5 percent, y-o-y.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport handled a total of 51,251 tonnes, up 8.1 percent, including 28,713 tonnes of exports, rising 5.1 percent, and 22,538 tonnes of imports that were also up by 12.2 percent.
At Gothenburg Airport, volumes dropped by .2 percent, y-o-y, to 10,209 tonnes due to a fall in exports by 11.3 percent to 4,410 tonnes, while imports fared better with an increase by 1.9 percent to 5,799 tonnes.
Finally, Malmo Airport handled a total of 12,513 tonnes, up 2.6 percent, including 5,744 tonnes of exports, down 4.3 percent, and 6,769 tonnes of imports that were up by 9.3 percent.
In July 2021 alone, volumes increased by 22.8 percent, y-o-y, due to the growth in cargo capacity offered at the airport.
