Jul 29, 2021 (newstodate): Russia's Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport has now fully recovered from the corona pandemic.
The airport saw its cargo volumes up by 32.7 percent, y-o-y, in H1/2021, to a total of 163,000 tonnes - but even more significantly, the airport's cargo volumes were actually also 10.4 percent above the H1/2019 volumes.
Contributing to the strong rebound in H1/2021 is domestic cargo that grew by 33.5 percent compared to H1/2019, reaching 47,000 tonnes.
With 116,000 tonnes, Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport's international cargo also increased by 16.4 percent, y-o-y, with half of these volumes generated on routes between Russia and China, Germany, the Netherlands, and South Korea.
