Jul 30, 2021 (newstodate): Air Greenland is operating under an extremely difficult market situation during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Greenland has put a limit for incoming passengers from Denmark at 1,000 per week - and already now the quota has been fully exploited, leaving no space for additional bookings.
Greenland's government has therefore re-activated an agreement with Air Greenland for provision of crucial non-commercial air services between Greenland and Denmark to secure capacity for medical and other urgent transportation needs.
Two extra rotations between Kangerlussuaq and Copenhagen Airport will therefore be operated during the coming month.
In 2019, the last year prior to the outbreak of Covid-19, Air Greenland performed 10 weekly rotations on its Transatlantic route to Denmark.
