Jun 03, 2021 (newstodate): The introduction of a third weekly freighter flight from May 4, 2021, at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport is expected to have a great impact in the country's air cargo market.
According to Lithuanian Airports, Turkish Cargo accounted for about one-third of the country's total air cargo volumes already with two weekly rotations - and adding the 3rd frequency will open new prospects for growth.
To boost the increased service, Lithuania offers discounted landing fees for the 3rd freighter frequency.
The new 3rd frequency operated by Turkish Cargo is routed Istanbul-Kiev-Vilnius-Istanbul, while the two other flights are routed Istanbul-Prague-Vilnius-Istanbul.
Turkish Cargo launched freighter flights to Vilnius on April 19, 2018, with two weekly Airbus A330-200F rotations.
