Jun 24, 2021 (newstodate): June 24, 2021, marks the inaugural commercial flight by the new Norwegian LCC Flyr on the route between Keflavik and London Stansted.
In the fleet are now two Airbus A320neo with a third aircraft joining by early July.
The fleet will grow to six aircraft in summer 2022, and to 10 units when Flyr adds flights between Europe and the USA via its home base at Keflavik Airport.
After that, plans are to grow cautiously to 15 aircraft in 2025, comprising a mix of Airbus A320neo and A321neo.
Among the first destinations from Keflavik will also be Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, Alicante and Tenerife, and for 2022, plans comprise flights to four or five destinations in North America - with options including Boston, New York, Baltimore, and Montreal
