Jun 29, 2021 (newstodate): A rare event for the Faroe Islands' Vagar Airport as a new airline is added on its monitors from this autumn: Norway's Wideroe.
Starting from September 4, 2021, Wideroe will launch twice-weekly flights on a new route from its hub at Bergen to Vagar Airport with Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
The two destinations were actually also connected by the Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways - but with two flights on May 31 and June 6, 2021, only.
In 2021, Atlantic Airways has however returned services between Vagar and Oslo, last served by the carrier till year-end 2011 with two weekly rotations.
The carrier is now providing one weekly Airbus A320 rotation on the route connecting Oslo and Vagar, starting from June 16, 2021, and running till the end of the summer 2021 schedule.
