Jun 02, 2021 (newstodate): Seeing little demand in its core market for passenger transportation, Lithuania's VIP passenger charter carrier KlasJet added cargo capacity to its product portfolio in 2020.
On May 11, 2020, KlasJet thus took in one Boeing 737-300 converted freighter on a one-year lease contract with Iceland's cargo ACMI and charter airline Bluebird Nordic, both airlines members of the Avia Solutions Group.
As the passenger market is now slowly recovering, KlasJet pulls out from the freighter market again, handing back the aircraft to Bluebird Nordic.
Summing up experience gained from one year of operation in a new market, KlasJet records flights with PPE from China to Europe, military flights, relief cargo, medical equipment flights, livestock, and many other types of cargo.
In total, the carrier has performed 271 flights to 48 airports in 30 countries, lifting over 1,000 tonnes of cargo during the period.
