Jun 10, 2021 (newstodate): Integrators DHL and FedEx continued their sustained rise in cargo volumes at Copenhagen Airport in January-May 2021.
Together, the two integrators handled a total of 34,108 tonnes of cargo during the period - an increase by 18 percent, y-o-y.
This also compares with 31,259 tonnes handled in January-May 2019, with volumes in 2021 up 10 percent above pre-Covid times.
In 2021, volumes on all-cargo flights were 27,730 tonnes, up 16.3 percent, y-o-y, and also up 12.3 percent compared to 2019.
Recognizing the role of Copenhagen Airport, DHL recently received the building permit for a new 26,000 m2 Northern Europe Hub.
Construction works are now started, and the new hub is expected to launch operations by Q4, 2022.
