Jun 16, 2021 (newstodate): With a total of 12,901 tonnes handled in May 2021, Finland's Helsinki Airport is recovering from last year's low levels.
The volume is a growth by 26.9 percent, y-o-y, driven by an increase in international cargo volumes.
May 2021 is thus the third successive month in 2021 with a positive growth compared to last year.
The picture remains rather bleak, however, as volumes in May 2020 dipped a hefty 54.3 percent against pre-Covid May 2019.
In January-May 2021, Helsinki Airport has been handling a total of 65,323 tonnes of cargo - an increase by 3.9 percent compared to 2020, when volumes were also down 26.9 percent.
