Jun 18, 2021 (newstodate): Cargo and mail volumes handled at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport are rising again in 2021 after the Covid-19 depression.
In total, the airport handled 1,440 tonnes in May 2021, up 17 percent, y-o-y.
The increase is driven by a 28 percent rise in exports, to 686 tonnes, while imports still lag behind by six percent, to 592 tonnes.
Compared to pre-Covid May 2019, exports are actually up 41 percent, while import volumes are still 26 percent down.
It should be noted that the volumes cited are primarily flown cargo, as not all carrier include data on trucked cargo volumes.
