Jun 11, 2021 (newstodate): According to Azerbaijan's State Tax Service, Silk Way East Airlines has announced its liquidation, giving creditors two months to file their claims.
   Azerbaijan's Silk Way Group set up the subsidiary Silk Way East in October 2016 as a venture to offset the Group's heavy dependence on the oil and gas industries that had been reduced significantly over the preceding years.
   The Silk Way East subsidiary reportedly never launched own operations.
   Silk Way East should not be confused with Silk Way West that is indeed very much alive with a fleet comprising five Boeing 747-8, seven Boeing 747-400 and one leased Boeing 747-400 BCF - with orders placed in 2021 for delivery of five Boeing 777F aircraft.
