Jun 16, 2021 (newstodate): It seems that Iceland will not see Air Canada returning direct nonstop flight services this summer.
The carrier has thus removed flights on its direct routes to Keflavik from this summer's schedule, offering instead bookings on flights by United Airlines between Iceland and New York Newark, connecting to Air Canada flights between New York and destinations in Canada.
In April 2021, Air Canada deleted flights on the route connecting Montreal and Keflavik, still planning for flights on the route between Toronto and Keflavik to be served with three weekly rotations starting from July 1, 2021, with Boeing 737 MAX aircraft replacing the Airbus A319 earlier operating the route for Air Canada Rouge.
In June 2017, Air Canada entered the Icelandic market with a total of seven weekly flights - four from Toronto and three from Montreal as the first Canadian airline and only Star Alliance carrier in North America to fly to Iceland.
