May 11, 202 (newstodate): Turkish Cargo is boosting its freighter service between Istanbul and Vilnius Airport.
Starting from May 4, 2021, the company has installed its third freighter frequency on the route, now operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The company has contributed strongly to the air cargo market at Vilnius Airport after launching freighter flights on April 19, 2018, with two weekly rotations from Istanbul.
Turkish Cargo launched its twice-weekly Baltic freighter service with the first flight into Latvia's Riga Airport on July 1, 2017; the service was originally planned to be allocated to Vilnius, in Lithuania. However, a runway reconstruction project closed Vilnius Airport for a period during summer 2017 - and the launch of the service was temporarily moved to Latvia
Starting from March 14, 2021, Turkish Airlines has also increased passenger services between Vilnius and Istanbul with a fifth frequency on Sundays, further adding to the company's cargo capacity in the market.
Representing Turkish Cargo in Lithuania is Kales Airline Services at Vilnius Airport.
