May 10, 2021 (newstodate): Thai Airways is cautiously planning for return of services between Thailand and Scandinavia.
As its only Scandinavian service so far this year, Thai Airways has been operating a weekly rotation from Bangkok to Copenhagen Airport since July 17, 2020, and is now planning to go up to three weekly rotations from July 1, 2021.
The airline is now also to reinstate services from Copenhagen to Phuket, aiming at offering one weekly rotation starting from July and till September 2021, with Airbus A350-900 aircraft, probably to be continued and expanded from the start of the winter 2021/22 schedule.
Thai Airways suspended all Scandinavian services from April 1, 2020, as the Covid-19 pandemic deepened.
According to the carrier's booking site, Sweden's Stockholm Airport may see the return of Thai Airways with three weekly flights from mid-October, 2021, while Norway's Oslo Airport may have to wait till 2022 before seeing the carrier back.
