May 18, 2021 (newstodate): SAS has announced the reopening of fights on the route between Oslo and New York, suspended since March 2020 during the Covid-19 eruption.
For a start, the carrier will be offering two weekly rotations on the route from July 3, 2021, aiming at the slowly recovering passenger market and not least supported by shipments of Norwegian seafood on the westbound flights.
Plans are for the route to be operated with Airbus A330-300 aircraft, earlier scheduled for flights with Airbus A321LR aircraft, the first of which was delivered on October 15, 2020, with the next deliveries slated for Q2 and Q3, 2021, respectively.
SAS is also planning for re-opening flights from Stockholm to New York from July 2, 2021.
