May 05, 2021 (newstodate): At a virtual press conference today, Ryanair will announce a batch of new routes at Denmark's Billund Airport and allocate two aircraft to be stationed at the airport.
According to the airline's booking site, the seven new destinations from Billund Airport by Ryanair will be Charleroi, Memmingen, Gothenburg, Seville, Sibiu, Tallinn and Wroclaw.
Ryanair made its first entry at Billund Airport on January 24, 2007, and on March 2012, Ryanair established its 48th base at the airport serving western Denmark.
But due to union protest and labor actions against Ryanair's opening of its second Danish base at Copenhagen Airport from March 2015, Ryanair closed down both bases in Denmark by July 2015.
